About Me

Welcome, I’m so glad you’re here!  If you are an elementary teacher who is looking for inspiration to create a high-engagement learning environment for your students...then you are in the right place!

I believe that learning should be hands-on, creative, meaningful, and full of rich content.  I strive to find ways to reach each one of my students in FUN and engaging ways.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing children engrossed in a learning activity.  Or watching their little faces light up with excitement when they want to share a connection they’ve made.  Or seeing them beam with pride after accomplishing a goal.  I bet you know this feeling well!

I started this blog as a way to share my ideas (the GOOD, the BAD, and the UGLY...let’s keep it real), as well as my classroom happenings.  I am so lucky to work at a school with some of the most talented and amazing educators that I’ve ever met.  These ladies continually inspire me every day with their creative ideas, and I feel like I’m a better teacher because of them.  You can meet my friends and read about their ideas on our collaborative blog Planning In Paradise.

So, a little bit about me!  My husband and I were both born and raised in Buffalo, NY.  Although we will always be Buffalonians (yes, that’s a word) at heart, we have found a new home here in sunny Florida where we are raising our two precious little boys.

I have been an elementary teacher since 2003...mainly 2nd grade and one year in 1st grade.  When I’m not working on school stuff, you can find me:

  • cooking with my two favorite chefs
  • traveling
  • D.I.Y.-ing
  • Planning new adventures with my family

To hear more classroom TALES from this teacher, stop by and say “hello” to me on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest.  I hope you visit often!
